April 27, 2023 – Troy New York – City of Troy Officials & the Rensselaer County Chamber came out to celebrate with First Columbia and Life Storage on the grand opening of Troy’s newest climate controlled facility at 500 River Street, Troy, New York.
First Columbia recently renovated the historic Fitzgerald Bros. bottling plant into high security, climate controlled, multi-story “Class A” self-storage facility.
The new facility accommodates as many as 1,000 storage units of varying sizes suited to accommodate businesses and the growing residential market in Downtown Troy.

Individual units range in size from small lockers of a few square feet up to multi-bay warehouse units of 5,000 square feet, commercial tenants are invited to inquire about larger custom spaces and services.
“It gives people from outside the suburban area who want to move back to that urban life an ability to consolidate their stuff and also be able to move in during that time and really speed up that process of moving in downtown,” Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce Membership Manager Michael Nagel said.
