Christine Seestadt, LMHC, CASAC, NCC and Katelyn Mucci, Counselor, MSEd, LMHC opened a private practice under their namesakes today, Monday, October 1, 2018 at 26 Century Hill Drive, Century Hill Plaza, Latham, NY. “I speak for the both of us when I say, we chose Century Hill because we love the professionalism of the building, how responsive and inviting the staff is, and the feeling we have in our new offices. We just know we will be happy here!” said Mucci. Century Hill Plaza is home to numerous Fortune 100 companies and professional service tenants.
“I have always had a desire to help people accomplish their goals.” States, Christine Seestadt. With over a decade of experience, Seestadt works with both adolescents and adults; with specialties in anxiety management, depression, ADHD, and a focus on issues sensitive to women such as post-partum depression, fertility and IVF counseling. “The mission of my practice is to provide all clients with high quality, individualized care to help them achieve their life goals, to provide education, support and tools needed to accomplish life desires in a safe space. I believe the magic happens, in therapy, when you feel safe and connected in the client-therapist relationship. I try to stay away from labels and diagnoses, and operate from a strength-based perspective.” Seestadt implements a 360 degree approach to her practice. “Mental health is as important as physical health. When your mind is well, you’re going to be well. I was recently certified as a Brain Health Coach to assist in learning about their brain health and implementing strategies to improve brain health which can include looking at various physical and mental exercises, vitamins and diet.”
Accompanying Seestadt in the new practice is Katelyn Mucci. After spending time in all aspects of the mental health industry, Mucci is excited to open her own space and work directly with clients. “I get to meet people from all walks of life and hear their story. “It’s incredible to hear what people have experienced and to witness their resiliency. The human spirit is amazing to see in action.” Mucci, too, works with adolescents, ages five and up, and adults and specializes in anxiety management, depression, adjustment disorders, ADHD, Grief Work, and Trauma. “Vulnerability doesn’t have to be scary, it can be empowering. My job is to be an unbiased sounding board, a fresh lens on the situation… I am a tool in their toolbox to help them on their journey, whatever that may be.”
“We are happy to have Christine and Katelyn join Century Hill Plaza.” States First Columbia’s Marketing Director, Victoria Harris. “Mental health is so critical; and these women are providing practical, holistic tools for their clients. It’s great that they are joining the mix of dynamic businesses located here.”
As for tips on how to handle daily stressors, both women agree in their approach: take time to reconnect. “Spend time with family and friends and exercise. I also really try to be grateful versus wishful. I try to practice what I preach!” – Katelyn Mucci, Counselor, MSEd, LMHC. “Take very good care of yourself. Have a routine. Stay connected with family, friends, and colleagues. Listen to your body.” – Christine Seestadt, LMHC, CASAC, NCC and Katelyn Mucci, Counselor, MSEd, LMHC.
