First Columbia Announces Tenant for New Spec Office Built at Century Hill Plaza

With a strong office market, First Columbia is erecting 30,000 sq. ft. in Latham to fulfill a demand for Tier 1 properties.

Early 2015, First Columbia announced the construction of a new speculative, two-story, 30,000 square-foot office building at its well-known Century Hill Plaza business park. 40 Century Hill Drive will be the seventh out of eleven approved buildings within the 625,000 square foot professional office park off Route 9, fronting over 2,000 square feet of the Northway (I-87) in Latham. .

Today FIrst Columbia announced the relocation of one of its well-known tenants Blueshield of Northeastern New York will be moving their headquarters to the newly built building.

BlueShield has signed a multi-year lease to become the sole tenant in the commercial building currently under construction, adjacent to BlueShield’s current offices at 30 Century Hill Drive. BlueShield has called the Century Hill Plaza office park home since 2002.

As the sole tenant of the new building, BlueShield’s logo will be showcased at the top of the building and visible from the Northway (I-87).

The new two story building will provide BlueShield’s 200 associates and visitors a state of the art workspace that incorporates meeting and training rooms, optimum workplace configurations, new office furnishings and workstations, significant use of natural light, a fitness center, and common space for employee meals and breaks.

First Columbia expects construction to be completed at 40 Century Hill Drive by mid-October. BlueShield’s move should be completed by the start of business on Monday, November 2. The move will cause no interruption in service to BlueShield’s members or provider partners.
