Community Bank Selects Century Hill Plaza for New Regional Headquarters

Community Bank will be investing in its new regional HQ at 14 Plaza Drive, Latham, NY.

Latham, NY — August 28, 2025 — Community Bank has leased more than 20,000 square feet at 14 Plaza Drive in Latham, marking its latest investment in the Capital Region. The Syracuse-based bank will establish its new regional headquarters within First Columbia’s Century Hill Plaza, occupying the entire second floor and part of the first. The move-in is expected this fall.

“This move represents more than just a new address — it’s an investment in our people and in the region we call home,” said Bryant Cassella, Regional President for Community Bank’s Eastern New York market. “A unified regional headquarters allows us to harness the full strength of our business, creating new opportunities for innovation, career growth, and community impact.”

First Columbia, one of the region’s leading commercial real estate developers and property managers, arranged the lease and is overseeing the build-out of the space.

“It will be a really nice space for Community Bank,” said Kevin Prunty, Vice President of Real Estate at First Columbia.

The Class A building at 14 Plaza Drive serves as the corporate headquarters for AngioDynamics, which will continue to occupy the third floor after downsizing. Located just north of Exit 7 off I-87, the property offers high visibility and is part of the 97%-leased Century Hill Plaza campus, home to tenants such as New York Life Insurance and Time Warner Cable.

Community Bank’s new regional office represents an approximately $8 million investment and will initially accommodate around 50 employees from various divisions of the bank’s parent company, Community Financial System Inc. (NYSE: CBU). The bank was represented in the transaction by CBRE’s Andrew Gearhart and Ann MacAffer.

The relocation supports Community Bank’s continued growth in the Capital Region. Over the past year, the bank has expanded its retail footprint, opening a new branch in Guilderland and preparing additional locations in Colonie and Niskayuna, along with a relocation of its downtown Albany branch to North Pearl Street.
