Fortune 100 company, health insurer Empire BlueCross, a subsidiary of Anthem Inc. (NYSE: ANTM), chose Century Hill Plaza in Latham to move its employees currently in Corporate Woods, Albany NY to the brand new 150,000 square feet office building. The public company is headquartered in Indianapolis and ranks 29th on the list published by Fortune magazine.
“In early 2020, we will be relocating our Albany office to a newer, more modern building located a few miles away,” said Sarah Yeager, a spokeswoman for Anthem. “The new office space will provide a more interactive, collaborative and innovative space for our Albany employees. We look forward to moving to the Century Hill Plaza development in Albany and remaining an integral part of this community.”
Century Hill Plaza is a class A office park just off exit 7 of I-87. First Columbia LLC, which owns Century Hill Plaza, plans to construct two connected buildings there. The buildings would have 150,000 square feet of office space on 7.58 acres.
With 670,018 subscribers in New York in the third quarter of 2018, Empire BlueCross’s spokeswoman, Yeager, said the company believes the office move will help Empire BlueCross better serve its customers and its employees.
“[The changes] will enable us to provide improved work environments for our employees and enhance our strong, collaborative culture, as we focus on creating a better health care experience for the communities and customers we serve,” she said.
First Columbia created Century Hill Plaza in 2002 with its first building 30 Century Hill Drive. Since then the park has seen a rise in Fortune 100 and 500 companies as well as prominent regional companies making Century Hill Plaza home to their offices. Century Hill Plaza boasts a strong tenant base with high retention rate. First Columbia plans to add amenities to the park including; a daycare, retail, café, and fitness.
